As a consequence, year after year the methods of water disinfection in swimming pools are gaining popularity, allowing to reduce the amount of chemicals used, in particular chlorine. 

The only method today that allows you to completely get rid of the use of chlorine, is the method of saturating the water with silver and copper ions. Other methods allow only to reduce the amount of chlorine used for disinfection, requiring partial or periodic shock chlorination, as the effect of prolonged action have only two methods: chlorination and disinfection with silver and copper ions.
